The scanner shows what your site really loads, including cookies set by JavaScript that a server-side crawl misses.
Run a scan
- Go to ClearCrumb → Scanner and click Start scan.
- ClearCrumb opens your pages one by one in a hidden frame in your browser: the home page, shop pages if you have WooCommerce, and your latest posts and pages, up to 50.
- Keep the tab open until it finishes. Each page gets a few seconds to load its scripts.
During a scan, blocking is switched off for your admin session only, so the scanner sees everything the page could load.
Review the results
- Needs your review: everything ClearCrumb could not sort by itself. A service it recognises shows a New service chip and an Add button; click it to start blocking that service.
- Cookies marked No category: usually from your theme or a plugin. Check where they come from before adding anything.
Trackers may set cookies in your own browser during a scan. That is expected and does not affect visitors.
Scan from the command line
wp clearcrumb scan reads your pages from the server. It finds scripts and server-set cookies, but not cookies set by JavaScript, so the browser scanner is the more complete check.
